PEACE IN THE MIDST OF WAR AND EVIL - Remembering 911

In Honor of 9/11, Light Beams at Manhattan

In a world of shared history, the echoes of 9/11 resonate as a poignant reminder of modern-day tragedies, the
fragility of life and the enduring spirit of peace. As we revisit the solemn assault of September 9, 2001, when New York City (and the world) was forever changed, let us not merely dwell on the darkness of the hijacked twin towers, but actively cultivate the light within ourselves—the unwavering beacon of peace.

In a society tainted by the shadows of evil, we hold the power to safeguard our hearts and minds. The key is to deliberately and unapologetically invite peace within. With that, I encourage you to consider these transformative steps:

  1. Meditate on the Breath of Life:

Dedicate five minutes each morning to appreciate your breath and breathe intentionally. Inhale the essence of existence, exhale the burdens. Let this be your daily meditation be a ritual of self-discovery and grounding. Before you speak, breathe.

  2. Prayer and Reflection:

Engage in heartfelt prayers, reflecting on the goodness that persists in your life and resonates across the globe. With gratitude, find solace and strength in the divine.

  3. Embrace Forgiveness:

Grant mercy and clemency generously, both to yourself and others. Release the shackles of resentment and the harrowing of the spirit. It will allow you to soar freely.

  4. Attitude of Gratitude:

Cultivate an attitude of thankfulness. Acknowledge and appreciate every facet of your life. Everything contribute to the colourful and varied pattern of your journey.

  5. Radiate Joy Through Smiles:

Smile unabashedly—without fear or embarrassment—and do it frequently. Whether a natural inclination or a practiced art, let your smiles radiate positivity, uplifting yourself and those around you. Smile.

  6. Elevate Your Soul Through Song:

Sing with abandon—a complete lack of inhibition or restraint— whenever the opportunity arises. Inhibition is that feeling that causes us to become acutely self-conscious. It freezes us up and make us act unnatural, tense and fearful. The melody of your voice has the power to evoke joy and stir the feel-good endorphins within.

  7. Extend a Helping Hand:

Give generously to those in need and less fortunate. Every small act of kindness, produces profound joy in the giver and receiver and perpetuate selflessness. Always give what you can, whenever you can, wherever you are.

  8. Embrace Humility:

Keep a low profile and minimize bragging. True strength lies in humility, and your actions will speak louder than words.

  9. Transform Pain into Power:

Most importantly, harness the lessons from pain, heartaches, regrets, disappointments, and failures. Instead of succumbing to bitterness, let these experiences fortify you—emerge wiser, bolder, and stronger. In other words, use your experiences to get stronger, rather than allowing them to make you bitter

In honoring the those touched by the tragedy of 9/11, living and departed, may peace find its dwelling within. May the peace within, extend without to our shared existence, fostering harmony on earth.

Until our paths converge again, be blessed, be bold, be strong—above all, be authentically YOU! Your thoughts and reflections are not only welcome but encouraged. Share the light, and let it resonate in the hearts of others.

Be Realistic!

Be Realistic We live in a world where being realistic is a thing of the past and conjures thoughts of mediocrity and cause for alarm in the minds of unrealistic people. It is no wonder we experience so much failure and disappointment in this 21st century.  With Christmas just around the corner, many will be holding unrealistic expectations of gifts to be given and received. Words are taken out of their true context and meaning can

The Three Culprits of Stress and How They Affect Our Lives

What is stress? Stress is like water, we all need it to feel alive, but too much of it at one time can cause infallible damage to our health. With that being said, stress in and of itself is neither good nor bad—it is a symptom or byproduct of one's feelings or thoughts of inability to do something that is important, or in anticipation of something great to come. Stress is a state of emotional chaos.   It can and will manifest (or show up) in our bodies as aches and pains and even severe or chronic diseases if the root cause is not dealt with swiftly and appropriately

It's Time to Design Your Days

Some days can be hard. To make them more manageable, use a #calendar to plan and design your day to optimize your time. Carve out a set time at the end of every month to visualize what the next month will look like and do your scheduling. At the start of every week, move items into the weekly calendar for a more focused vision. There are several different tools to choose from, such as Google, Outlook, Yahoo, and Slack, which are supported by iCalendar, or the actual paper planners. There are also many other Calendar Apps to help us stay focused and organized: schedule events, create to-do lists and make journal entries all in one place. Begin with a clear vision of how you want each day of the week to look, what you wish to accomplish and how you want to navigate the day: Then set a few mini goals for the day or week ahead. Prioritize tasks in a time slot on your calendar by importance and deadline. Allow for some flexibility in your schedule for unexpected events or delays. Review you...
