Christmas is Almost Here and You are Broke!

Don't be a scrooge, be fruge. Here are Five Fun and Frugal ways to keep the spirit of Christmas alive:

1.  Gift giving can put a huge bent in your wallet so do: SECRET SANTA or AGE LIMIT gifting and buy QUALITY over quantity.

2.  Christmas Dinner:  In our family, we do a POT-LUCK style Christmas dinner every year, this way one family is not burdened with preparing meals and the huge cost that goes with it.

3.  DIY Art & Craft: Back in the olden days our fore-parents used to make gifts out of crotchet and knitting and even home-made rag-dolls and train toys. This is a great way to save money, spend QUALITY time with love ones, and teach the kids the art of creativity.

4.  Entertainment: So you don't have money for big box entertainment, let the kids sing carols before and after dinner and do recitals; do a family photo shoot - a fave in our family, and then share them with friend on face book; let the tech savvy in the family do a Christmas CD from free music streaming on line; and finally let the adults do a show for the kids to see their parents in action having fun.

5.  Honesty: Let your family and love ones know that you are low on funds. They will understand.  Be true to yourself and live within your means.

Remember, you do not need to prove anything to anyone. You are too blessed to be stressed, just switch up your holiday tradition a bit and have fun. Whala!!!

Merry Christmas!!

This is AggieStrong,
Until next time
Be bless...Be bold...Be strong...Be YOU!!

Journey of Self: Who Are You?

How do you begin to answer this question? Do you begin with your name, relations, occupation, achievements, life status or family lineage? How about sexual, spiritual or solar orientation? No? Then you must be your race, creed, nationality, or background? Right?... So, if none of those define you, tell me... do you really, truly and honestly know who you are? How might you begin to find out? As individuals we have so many intricacies and facets to our lives that if we have not consciously taken the time to find out who we are, we could be living a lie or someone else idea of who we are. I know, I know...I can hear the protest loud and clear: "I know who I am." But really, do you? I have news for you. What you do and where you came from are NOT you!  That's right, it is an extension of who you are, but it certainly isn't you in its entirety. You were who you are, long before you learned how to walk, talk, read, or write. Long before your passed or cu...
