Time for Change: Four Reasons A Person Should Change and Why

Change is necessary, but not all change is good.  It is the revolution of the future.  We need change for growth and prosperity. But what is Change?

The word CHANGE means: To become different, renewed or anew; a shift in paradigm - from ones current state to new desired state.

Personally, I am not one to advocate CHANGE. Unless of course, you are doing it for you and NOT for someone else.  You see; in any event, one MUST want or need to change in order for change to take place in the first place, and we hope for the better.  We cannot be going about telling people to be their "authentic self" and then; in the same breath, tell them to change.  Change for what?  We must all live the life we love and love the life we live; so long as it is a life DEVOID of the four BIG "NESSES".

In order to live a BOLD AND CONFIDENT LIFE one must first devoid one’s self of what I call the four BIG NESSES and/or the tell-tale signs of LOW OR NO SELF-ESTEEM:

Disrespectfulness:
RUDE, DISCOURTEOUS, SARCASTIC, CONTEMPTUOUS, YELLING, CAUSING ANGER OR ANNOYANCE, SPEAKING OR ACTING IN SUCH A WAY

Ungratefulness:
UNTHANKFUL, UNAPPRECIATIVE, UNPLEASANT, NOT GIVING DUE RETURN OR RECOMPENSE FOR BENEFITS RECEIVED

Mean-Spiritedness:
COWARDLY, CRAVEN, DISLOYAL, BULLYING, MALICIOUS, PETTY, UNTRUE, HATEFUL, JEALOUS, ALWAYS WANTING TO HURT OTHERS CONSCIOUSLY OR INNATELY

Weakness:
ARE YOU A PUSHOVER, THE AGREEABLE ONE, LACKING FIRMNESS OF CHARACTER OR STRENGTH IN WILL, EASILY DEFEATED TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF, SELF-PITY OR VICTIMIZED SYNDROME
DO NOT BE AFRAID TO ASSERT YOURSELF OR EVEN BECOME THE “PROVERBIAL B!TCH”, IF IT MEANS STANDING UP FOR YOUSELF AND YOUR WELL-BEING.
These four NESSES are life’s greatness ENERGY ZAPPERS.  They serve no other purpose other than to hold US back from attaining our full potential, personal balance and spiritual richness. If you are holding on to any of these, I beg you, let it go!

You need to be REFORMED if you:

  • Always twist the truth to make others look bad or sympathize with you
  • Are a Notorious liar
  • A Thief, or
  • A Menace to society.

How does one change?

In order to change, we must be serious about change. Change must be a personal commitment and a ritual for it to take place. We can change by doing one or all of the followings:
  • First acknowledge the need for change
  • Be willing to RE-LEARN and break old cycles or patterns
  • READ Self-help books and Article or listen to Audio CDs and the likes – Knowledge is Power is the Key
  • Enlist the HELP of a Personal Development Life coach or a Counsellor
  • Surround yourself with PEOPLE who exhibit the change you desire
  • – The power of Association
  • Believe in yourself and Trust God to help you get through it.

A Personal Sunday Reflection on the Three Stages of Life: Rest in Peace, My Brother.

A personal Sunday reflection of my brother’s life and legacy, in what I call the three stages of life—birth and development, the pursuit and the chase, and sickness and dying— illuminating the gift of mortality. Rest in peace, my brother. Life often demands reflection in its quietest moments. It's no wonder some people are always busy. The recent passing of my brother, Donovan, brought me to one of these moments—confronted by the stillness of an early morning ten days after his departure, I had an epiphany . In that silence, I considered the arc of life, its inevitable stages, and the truths that define us. From the beginning of birth to the vigour of youth and its pursuits of adulthood, to the finale—the fragility of aging and dying. I contemplated that life unfolds in three distinct but interconnected phases: birth and development, the pursuit, and sickness and dying.   Birth and Development: The Foundation of Self Life begins with hope and infinite potential. Each birth represe...
