365 Noteworthy Ways To Do You In 2017

Blog Post Title

So the other day I was on Instagram and I saw a post which immediately gave me a whiff of inspiration. You may or may not have seen the mason jar note for different reasons. But I decided to do it with a twist. Instead of adding notes to the jar as you go along, you would pre-write your notes~all 365 of them!

Basically, here is my twisted version for the jar: On New Years Eve or on New Years Day after collecting all the of the following items you would gather them together and begin writing one thing to do each day of the year to make your life better, bolder, stronger to feel more blessed and less stressed all year long. This may seem daunting at first, but I guarantee you that as your start writing and filling your jar, you will get more in tuned with it and begin to enjoy the process as you envision your life the way you want to see it coming to fruition one day at a time.

The kit!

To begin with, either tonight or tomorrow, go to the craft store or the Dollar store and pick up the following:

Aggiestrong New Years Eve Apothecary Noteworthy Kit

  • One glass apothecary jar or a large mason jar
  • A journal
  • A pen
  • glue stick
  • Pattern scissor of your choice or 2 or 3
  • Scrapbooking paper or large sticky notes in multiple bright colors
  • A piece of ribbon to decorate the jar, optional

What to do?

Now that you have all your items, clean the jar and wipe the outside with isopropyl rubbing alcohol gently and let it dry. This is to help the label you are going to make affix to the jar without coming off. Do not use Windex or another household cleaner--it doesn't work as well for this purpose. Create your label as you wish with the title that describes the purpose of your jar. For example: "Things To Do", "Goals", "Prosperity", "Motivations", "Self-Esteem", '365 ways to Be Strong".... Glue the back of the label and stick it to the center of your jar and let it dry for a moment.

Your Noteworthy Life!

Next, begin writing out your list of 365 things you wish to accomplish in 2017. Be it big or small. This is your jar and your year to shine and set yourself apart from the rest. Embrace the new bolder, stronger, confident you by enlisting 365 ways to make it happen!

To give you a head start, create eight (8) sub-categories representing the eight areas of your life:

  1. Faith,
  2. Career,
  3. Love,
  4. Money,
  5. Family,
  6. Friends,
  7. Health,
  8. Adventure

(or call them what you may). Reflect on what went well and what didn't go so well for you in 2016 in each area. Identify the imbalance in each specific area one at a time and make a list of things you could do each day to change it or pay special attention to it so that you can create more happiness and fulfillment for yourself.  You could choose eight different color paper representing each sub-category. This way it is less overwhelming as you'll only have to think of 45 things or so to improve that area of your life. As you write, put the pieces of folded paper into the jar to begin making your beautiful life! When you are finished, give the jar a good shake to mix things up a bit.

What Next?

Set your beautiful jar on your bedside table, kitchen counter or bathroom counter, somewhere where you'll be able to interact with it daily. Each morning as you awake and before you leave the house, take a piece of note from the jar, with your eyes closed or open as you wish.

Read the note and set your intention for the day to accomplish whatever it says. Remember this is your time to shine and make a difference in your own life!

You Must Be Accountable!

Notebooks and Journals

Well, you sure didn't think you could get off the hook now, did you? There can be no success without accountability. To quote Bob Proctor, "Accountability is the glue that ties commitment to results." So how can you be accountable in this little exercise? I am going to propose two ways:

  • Social media
  • Journal

For the social media enthusiasts, you can post your #noteofthe day on your site and let your friends and followers help to keep you accountable. At some point before the day ends, post a pic of you doing what the note said with your captioned hashtag #NoteworthyDay!

For those of you who prefer less sharing, you can glue the note in your journal at the top of the page and answer these three questions:

  1. What did you like about this project?
  2. What was the biggest thing you learned abut yourself in doing this project?
  3. What would you change about what you did?

Mind you, you can do one or the other or both. This is your life! Your time to shine!

Let your spirit be your guide in this and whatever you do moving forward. Your spirit is your center. If you feel stuck, confused, ashamed, fearful or overwhelmed alway go back to your core. Your spirit will guide you to the right person or place and remind you to think outside the box.

God bless you now and forever! Stay strong and have a prosperous new year!

Happy New Years Card

When Your Best Isn't Good Enough

Ever feel like no matter how hard you've tried or how much effort you put into something or someone, your best just isn’t good enough? Well, my mother, God rest her soul, used to say: "When man on earth has done their best, Angels in heaven can’t do more." I loved that woman... she was such an inspiration and my best friend. I miss you so. Well, here are some other advices I have gathered to help us feel better when life knocks us down:

How to Get the Life You Want:

According to Stephen Covey, in his book 7 Habits of Highly Effectively People,  in order to be successful and live the life you want, you must " put first things first" .  A pretty old saying if you ask me.  Something my own parents or grandparents have said for decades.  Now I am going to tell you the same thing again.

Happiness is a Myth

What if I told you everything you thought you knew about happiness is wrong? The truth is happiness is a myth and an illusion that is  overrated.   It is like chasing after a butterfly. The more you pursue it, the more it eludes you, and the moment you catch it is the moment it begins to die.  So, from whence came the word happy? According to The Oxford English Dictionary, the first record of the word was around 1350,   from Middle English, "a form of the English language spoken after the Norman conquest (1066) until the late 15th century," which is a derivative of the Old Norse "happ," meaning "luck" or "chance."  It combined "the word hap, meaning "a person's luck or lot," and the suffix –y, meaning "characterized by," to   form diminutive nouns and adjectives denoting a state, condition, or quality.  Then, in essence, when someone says, "I want to be happy," they are really saying that they want someone e...
